Branding for Actors
How corporate branding techniques can be used to help an actor differentiate and market themselves.

A while back (feels like a million years ago, but it was probably only 4 or 5) I created a little deck for my actor friends about creating an actor brand using some of the techniques I've learned over the years doing corporate design.

It's been gathering dust on a hard drive somewhere, but I thought it might be fun to dig it out, and see if it still offered any value.

Best day for first meeting

Whats the best day for our first reading?

We need to get this started.  It seems we need authors to submit 5 pages or so of a script and we need actors to volunteer to read.  Once we have enough of each we can choose a date and location and host our first reading.

This small short easy to read book is an excellent guide to the craft of acting. It explains the actors job is to "find a way to live truthfully under imaginary circumstances" and gives a simple three step approach to help you do that.

The three steps to analyzing a scene are:

1. What is the character literally doing?
2. What is the essential action of what the character is doing in the scene? (the subtext)
3. What is the action like to me? It's as if ...
